Fitch’s Marissa Lowe took second place in the 100 hurdles clocking 16.11 in the semi final round and 16.19 in the final. James Shirvell, a Falcon teammate posted the best ECC time of the season thus far in the 1600 meters. The Falcon boys’ posted a 6th place finish in the 4x100 while Josh Fish took 3rd for NFA in the pole vault clearing 12-6. The shot put was a very strong event for the boys as NFA’s Tony Facchini was 2nd, just ahead of Ryan Bolduc of Stonington (3rd) and James Key of Fitch. NFA’s Chris Antoine was 2nd in the high jump. Plainfield’s Josh Choquette won the discus with a toss of 152-5 for his Panther team to take over sole possession of the ECC discus mark this season. Fitch’s Mike Joyner was 4th in the event.

Fitch’s Reysa Florentino took 6th in the 400 meter dash, while East Lyme’s Brianne Mirecki, usually a distance ace, tried the 400 meter hurdles and did nicely for the Vikes taking 4th place over Marissa Lowe of Fitch who finished 6th. Ledyard’s super sophomore, Emily Loy, took back the 200 meter lead clocking 26.69 today, good for 5th place.  NFA distance ace Sarah Eagan took over the top spot in the ECCs in the 3200 meters covering the distance in a hot 11:08+, knocking over 1:21 off the best time thus far this season. Wahnetah Carty of NFA showed some diversity today as she was the victor in the high jump at 5-0. Jessica Banning and Kaylan Pickford, Carty’s teammates, took 2nd and 3rd in the pole vault today as Windham’s Caitlin Coleman took 4th in the javelin for the Whippets. Megan Chapman and Stephanie Charron of Stonington and Plainfield respectively, switched finishing position in the discus as Chapman took 2nd and Charron was 4th in the event.  Ledyard got a win in the Triple Jump from Alison Mueller, who leaped to 35 feet ½ inch.
