With the Greater Hartford Invite Cross Country Meet cancelled, the weekend’s events were fairly limited. Opening events took place Friday in East Hampton and concluded Saturday at Thetford.

Bellringer Invitational @ East Hampton

The Woodstock girls’ team finished in 3^rd place overall on Friday behind the efforts of Cassie Guliani’s second place finish in 21:21. Shaylah Carbone was 8^th, Bridget Matsas 16^th, Anna Savvidis 18^th and Haley Chapman rounded out the Centaur scoring finishing 43^rd.

Woods Trail Run in Thetford Invitational Results @ Thetford, VT

Thetford was dominated by 7 teams from Vermont or New Hampshire finishing in the top 10 and one each from the southern New England tier including 2^nd place Glastonbury with 142 points. 

The top ECC girls’ team at the very tough Thetford course was St. Bernard out of Uncasville led by Kyra Coughlin’s top ECC time of 24:05  Kyra’s time for the 5K course was good enough for 129^th place individually. The Saints were 39^th overall.  Lyman Memorial was 41^st led by Danielle Aquilera’s 24:52.

The boys’ best effort from a team was Lyman Memorial which finished 46^th overall, but got a 19:10 effort from Dan Fields, who is proving himself as one of the top contenders for ECC Championship honors. Fairfield Prep and Ridgefield finished 2^nd and 8^th on the day, leading Connecticut entries.
