On Saturday at the SCC Coaches’ Indoor Track and Field Invitational Meet at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in Hillhouse HS in New Haven CT, Precious Holmes of Hillhouse brought her record-breaking speed from the outdoor season indoors as she set two state records in the 600m run and the 300m dash. The junior from Hillhouse sped to the easy looking victory in the 600m Run as she sped through the 400m mark in about 60-seconds and continued to the finish line in 1:32.61 to break the former record of 1:33.43 set by Annelies Gamble of Amity at the 2009 New England Championships. Holmes returned later in the meet to win the 300m Dash in 39.09 to eclipse the former mark of 39.17 that was held by both Shayla Wallace of NW Catholic in 1996 and Stacey-Ann Smith of Bloomfield from the 2006 Yale Classic.
