The Running Academy (TRA) began 15 years ago to promote the sport of cross country and build a community of runners throughout the Northeast. This year’s camp will take place August 12 through August 17.  Campers participate in two runs per day in and around Camp Wah-Nee in Torrington, CT.  Wah-Nee is a premier camp facility, with a lake, a pool, a weight room and plenty of indoor and outdoor meeting facilities. Campers and counselors run in nearby parks, trails and seldom traveled roads while campers enjoy the beauty of Litchfield County. The Running Academy Cross Country Camp features lectures and motivational talks from world-class runners, coaches, sports medicine personnel as well as some of the top collegiate runners in the nation.

Five years ago, TRA extended services to include pole vaulter clinics at the Newtown Youth Academy in the winter and Danbury Sports Dome in the spring, summer and fall. The goal of the clinics is to educate and motivate male and female pole vaulters of all ages and abilities. TRA believes that with hard work and the proper instruction, athletes can improve and achieve their goals.

TRA also offers one to one and small group coaching by appointment. Whether you are a beginner or potential All American, Coach Ogden has the experience to provide specific drills, training guidelines and motivation to help you reach your goals.
