On Friday night at Xavier High School in Middletown CT the inaugural Connecticut Distance Festival provided the opportunity for many competitors in the Boys and Girls 1-Mile Run and 5000m Run to establish personal records.
Miller Anderson of Hall lead all finishers in the Boys 1-Mile Run with a time of 4:20.32 with Tim Lautenbach of Weston in second place at 4:26.72. The Girls 1-Mile Run was won by Elizabeth Stockman of Rocky Hill in 5:07.10 as Kate Hedlund of Manchester placed second in 5:20.80.
The Boys 5000m Run was won by Drew Thompson of Fairfield Prep in 15:14.10 closely followed by Trey Cormier of Hall (15:18.03) and Alexander Korczynski of Windham (15:21.07). The Girls 5000m Run featured a winning time of 18:23.37 by Kate Daley of Morgan and a second-place finish by Emily Sienna of Hale Ray in 18:37.04.
