With the recent validation by Meet Director Jim Spier of the New Balance Nationals Indoor meet results, both performances by the Danbury Boys 1600m Sprint Medley Relay Team and Dyshon Vaughn of Career Magnet were added to State Indoor Track & Field Record Book.
The Danbury Boys team of Malachi Lorick, Glenroy Ford, Sean-Michael Parkinson (400m-51.02) and Malcolm Going (800m-1:50.52) earned All-American honors in the Boys 1600m Sprint Medley Relay Championship as they sped to a winning time of 3:28.36. Their time lowered the former State Indoor record of 3:29.40 set by the Staples team at 2012 NBIN meet.

Senior Dyshon Vaughn of Career Magnet leaped 24’5.50’ on his final attempt in the Boys Long Jump Championship to earn a tie with Jeremiah Willis of Cicero NY. The tie-breaker rule was used to compare their second best jumps with Vaughn edging Willis for the victory by a 7.23m to 7.11m margin. Vaughn’s winning mark of 24’5.50’ bettered the former State Record mark of 24’2.25” set by Myles Bradley of NFA at 2005 State Open. Vaughn’s previous personal best had been his leap of 23’8.5” at the 2018 CIAC State Open meet.
