The meet slated to start at 9:00am on October 7th, 2017 has drawn entrants from four states including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New Hampshire.

The meet started in 1982 with a trio of meet directors that included George Suitor, Dick Brimley and Bill Barron. Bill Baron assumed sole meet director responsibilities and management in 1994. Coach Baron, who has been the only meet starter since its inception, is again starting the 34th edition of the meet on Saturday.

The meet also highlights the advancement in entry registration and results reporting over the years as seen in the collaboration between EZ Meet Services and Northeast Sports Timing Service. The 2006 meet marked the first year of online entry registration of athletes and teams as well as electronic reporting of results for this large invitational meet.

Prior to 2006 entries were mailed or faxed and results hand tabulated and scanned to a file as evidenced by these results from the2005 Varsity Boys Results and Varsity Girls Results races. The close association between EZ Meet Services and Northeast Sports Timing Service enabled results that were easy to read as well as complete for team scoring and individual results for the Boys and Girls Varsity races (Boys Varsity: UnSeeded, Seeded, Championship and Girls Varsity: UnSeeded, Seeded, Championship ).

The 2010 Wickham Park Invite signaled another advancement in meet entry and reporting as Middle School and Freshmen races were included in the online registration and official results. As the meet continued to grow in popularity and entrants, the final advancement came in the 2014 edition of the meet as the Junior Varsity Races were finally included in electronic entry and results.

The 34th edition of the Wickham Park XC Invitational is the largest meet to date that includes 1,108 Middle School athletes representing 40 schools and 4,801 High School athletes representing 139 schools.
