UPDATE: Fleet Feet Sports owner Steph Blozy is still looking for help this week to prepare and ship the more than 7,000 pairs of shoes that were generously donated for the Soles for Souls drive for Haiti.

The largest problem now facing Step is how to transport the load of shoes to the Nashville TN collection depot without breaking her bank.

PLEASE contact Steph by email or phone (860.233.8077) if you have an economical solution to shipping the mass of shoes to Nashville.

Anyone driving south in a large empty truck?

The number says it all about the generosity of our citizens as they try to make a difference in helping the people in earthquake-devastated Haiti. On my visit to the Fleet Feet of West Hartford store last night to drop off my own bag of gently-used running shoes before the 7pm deadline, I was greeted by a tired yet enthusiastic look from employees as I questioned about where to unload my supply of shoes. I was told to follow them to the basement where upon I was stunned to see that most of their basement storage was occupied by more than 7,000 pair of shoes.
