Performances by four athletes at the 12th Bloomfield Invitational were record-breaking despite the cool and windy conditions for the early season meet.

Brittany Jones of Bloomfield was responsible for resetting three meet records as she won the Girls Shot Put with a heave of 42’4.75” to increase her 40’4” mark set last year. Jones also increased the Discus Throw record with a toss of 122’5” to eclipse the former mark of 111’10” set by Chelsey Terry in 2012. Jones’ final record mark came in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 153’00” to erase the 138’1” mark set last year by Erica Belvit.

Sophomore Angela Saidman of Immaculate lowered the 3200m Run meet record with personal record time of 11:04.13 to lower the former mark of 11:18.20 set by Sabrina Olsen in 2014.

Terrence Cook of Simsbury soared over 14’0” in the Boys Pole Vault to better the old mark of 13’9” set by Ian Bergere in 2013.

Christian Strum of St Paul won the Boys Hammer Throw with a toss of 140’00” to reset the former record of 136’1” of Raheme Dawkins in 2016.

The 12th Bloomfield Invitational Meet records are now available on the Outdoor Track and Field Records page sponsored by soundRUNNER of Branford, Fairfield, Glastonbury and Old Saybrook.
