His 3000m winning time of 8:50.53 from the 2016 Penn Relays is the current Connecticut Outdoor State Record.

On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championship, the Windsor quartet of Tim Epps, Kyshawn Bonner, Michael Mahon and Tyler Coyle earned gold medals in the 4x200 Meter Relay Championship with a time of 1:27.03 that bettered the existing Connecticut State Outdoor Record of 1:27.41 set by Windsor at the meet last year.
