More Notable Performances by State Athletes at Penn Relays

In addition to the previously reported 1-2 finish in the High School Boys’ 3000m Championship by Eric van Els of Brien McMahon and Gabriel Altopp of Ridgefield on Friday, several other state teams achieved notable performances in the competition on Friday and Saturday at the 2016 Penn Relays at Franklin Field, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia PA.

Penn Relays meet highlights by state teams and athletes from Friday and Saturday events in the top 15 places included:

·        Bloomfield:

o   High School Boys' 4x100 Small Schools - 13  Bloomfield  (Bloomfield, CT)  42.96  Maurice Sauge, Zaheem Anderson , Thomas Norman, Russell Thompson - Bishop 

o   High School Boys' 4x400 - 3  Bloomfield  (Bloomfield, CT)  3:30.97  Al'Malik Williams (53.77), Maurice Savage (53.65), Patrick Whyte (53.23), Russells Thompson-Bishop (50.33)

o   High School Girls' 4x100 Small Schools - 6  Bloomfield  (Bloomfield, CT)  48.44  Zaidra James, Andrea Mills, Cassidy Palmer, Erica Belvit 

·        Classical Magnet:

o   High School Boys' 4x400 - 3  Classical Magnet  (Hartford, CT)  3:28.84  Juan Echevarria (51.85), Jameal Cushnie (50.56), Austin Francis (52.82), Carlos Echevarria (53.62) 

·        Danbury:

o   High School Boys' Distance Medley Championship of America - 11  Danbury  (Danbury, CT)  10:25.86  Terrell Cunningham (3:09.08), Devante Clarke (51.26), Jake Roberts (1:58.44), Jack Adamski (4:27.10) 

·        Windsor:

o   High School Boys' 4x400 - 2  Windsor  (Windsor, CT)  3:24.33  Timothy Epps (50.74), Marcus Manson (49.72), Jakuan Simmons (52.42), Christopher McClean (51.47)
