After closely monitoring the weather forecast for Saturday that calls for periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms during the day, Meet Director Lindy Remigino has decided to cancel the 60^th Greater Hartford Invitational XC Meet scheduled for Oct. 3, 2009 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain CT.

The decision to cancel was based on that fact that the safety of the runners can not be insured on the course in a thunderstorm and rain as well as any spectators at Stanley Quarter Park, which does not have any fixed shelters.

Registered coaches have also been notified by email of this notice.

This should allow coaches enough time to inform their athletes and cancel scheduled transportation.

Team entry fees will be returned in a mailing to schools scheduled later today.

Lindy Remigino thanks coaches for their willingness to attend the meet this year and hopefully they can attend the 2010 Greater Hartford Invite.
