Knapp)
The weather delay between Thursday, May
31st and Friday, June 1st at the CIAC Class M

points while Griswold finished in second place with 66 followed by
Seymour in third place with 59.5 points. The Weston victory was

The Bloomfield Men's Team return to an outdoor track and
field championship title was accomplished with pure sprint and jump

collected half of the total 112.5 points in winning and placing in the
100m dash, 200m dash and 4x100m relay events. As the runner-up team with
71 points, Coginchaug Regional could not match the sprint depth of
Bloomfield, who last won the Class M title in 2000. In the 100m Dash,
winner Marcus Campbell (10.96) was followed by teammate Dewayne Stewart
in second and Marcus Cooper in fifth. Similarly in the 200m dash,

Maurice Calenda in third. The quartet then combined in the 4x100m relay
to win in 42.66. While Cooper won the High Jump in 6'4", teammate Joshua

Boy's State DMR Record Falls at Dream
Invite
(May 27, 2007 - 9:00am - Ron
Knapp)
As the twilight was lengthening it's shadows into night at the
Danbury High School Stadium track facility on Friday, May
26th, several schools had gathered to compete in the first Danbury Dream
Invitation that featured infrequently contested events, the 2000m
Steeplechase and the 4000m Distance Medley Relay. The invitational gave
several schools an opportunity to achieve marks for consideration at the
Nike national meet later in June. In the 2k Steeplechase, Andrew
Sullivan of Ellington ran a fast 6:16.02 time to finish first. The 4000m
DMR provided quality competition that resulted in three teams breaking
the state record of 10:20.41 set by Glastonbury at the 2005 Nike
Nationals. First across the line in a new record of 10:10.99 was the
Danbury quartet of Parker Boudreau (1200m-3:05.8), Mike Danzy
(400m-48.5), Justin Rau (800m-1:57.7) and Willie Ahearn
(1600m-4:18.8). They were closely followed by the Glastonbury DMR squad
who just edged the Conard team, 10:18.06 to 10:18.14, and Xavier at
12:47.93.

also eclipsed Manchester’s record from 2006 with a time of 3:32.16.
In competition on the girls side, Bloomfield’s Kristen Johnson cleared
5’0” to win the High Jump, tying the meet record, while second place
finisher Bethany Halligan of Wm. Hall also cleared 5’0”. In the 4x200m

meet record from 2004 (12:44.13), winning the DMR in 12:10.09. The team
