2008 Outdoor Featured Meets

37th Hartford Public HS Invite

Meet Director Lindy Remigino invites all interested schools in the Northeast and Eastern seaboard, as well as Canadian schools, to the 37th Annual Hartford Public High School Invitational Outdoor Track and Field Meet. The meet will once again be held at the Veterans' Stadium, located at Willowbrook Park in New Britain Connecticut. The Irv Black Track is an 8-lane, 400m mondo surface track, including the runways for the long jump, triple jump and pole vault. It is also the site for the Connecticut State Meets as well as the last season's New England Interscholastic Meet. Please review the meet schedule from last year where competition commences at 9:30am on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
With your help, Meet Director Lindy Remigino once again will assemble a high caliber field of competitors for a meet that has been recognized nationally as one of the top springtime meets on the East Coast. It will include athletes from fourteen states: Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania. New Hampshire, Maine, Virginia, Kentucky, Washington DC and Delaware as well as Canada. 
We hope that your team or some of its members will be able to compete. Entry procedures, fees, rules, records, past results and minimum standards are available at the 37th Annual Hartford Public High School Invitational Outdoor Track and Field Meet website. Please note that all meet registration will be conducted online, performance marks will be validated and there will be absolutely no athlete additions or changes (except for scratches) to an event on meet day. The Intent to Enter form is now available online for coaches to complete. This meet is sponsored Hartford Public High School with assistance of corporate sponsors.

27th Journal Inquirer Greater Manchester Track and Field Invitational

Meet Director Thayer Redman has released this year's meet information and deadlines for the 27th Journal Inquirer - Greater Manchester Track and Field Invitational. Invited coaches are reminded that all registration is again online this year. The following registration items are due by 12-noon on Friday, May 2, 2008: Online Intent to Enter, Entry Fees, Officials Form and Team Press Release (used by Matt Buckler of the Journal Inquirer for news releases). The Online Athlete Event Entry for Boys and Girls Form deadline is 11:59pm on Saturday, May 10, 2008. NVL Championships

Meet Directors Jerry Ciarleglio of Holy Cross High School and Jeff Lownds of of Woodland HS invite Ansonia, Crosby, Holy Cross, Kennedy, Naugatuck, Sacred Heart, Seymour, Torrington, Watertown, Wilby, Wolcott, and Woodland to enter the 2008 Naugatuck Valley League Championships scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Watertown High School. The meet website contains all meet information including the Athlete Event Entry forms. Please note that there is NO Intent to Enter form. Coaches are expected to provide their entries on time. ALL Athlete Event Entries are due by 9pm-Tuesday May 13, 2008.

ECC Championships

Meet Director Rich Kosta of Fitch High School in Groton is this year's host of the 2008 Eastern Connecticut Conference Championships scheduled for Saturday May 24, 2008 at East Lyme High School. ECC member schools include Bacon Academy, East Lyme, Fitch, Griswold, Killingly, Ledyard, Lyman Memorial, Montville, New London, Norwich Free Academy, Plainfield, Putnam, St. Bernard, Stonington, Tourtellotte Memorial, Waterford, Wheeler, Windham, and Woodstock Academy. The meet website contains all meet information including the Athlete Event Entry forms that will be online on Tuesday May 10, 2008. Please note that there is NO Intent to Enter form. Coaches are expected to provide their entries on time. ALL PRIMARY Athlete Event Entries are due by 12:00pm-Noon-Sunday May 18, 2008. The Additional and Correction entries deadline is 5:00pm on Sunday, May 18, 2008.

To Youth Coaches, Parents, and Teachers:
Meet Director Michelle White is pleased to announce the Bloomfield Youth Developmental Series and the 2nd Annual Bloomfield Youth Invitational Outdoor Track and Field Meet.  The Bloomfield Youth Invitational was created to:

• Encourage youth physical fitness,
• Afford fun learning experiences for youth 9 to 14 years old,
• Grant an opportunity for youth to compete and build sportsmanship while building their leadership skills. 

The USATF CT Association sponsors the events.  We encourage ALL participants to have 2008 USATF membership. However, none -USATF members may still participate. 

The event is schedule to be held at the Bloomfield High School Track and Field Facility on Saturday, May 24, 2008 sharply at 11:00 a.m. All teams and individual participants must register no later than 5:00 p.m. the Wednesday May 21, 2008. All registrations must be accompanied by payment OR IT IS NOT A REGISTRATION. There will be NO LATE registrations.

Bloomfield Invite

The early-season Bloomfield Invitational is in its fifth season and meet director Garfield White has provided coaches and athletes with one of the first opportunities to compete in a meet that has drawn teams from across the state. A full slate of events are offered at the meet that is scheduled for April 5, 2008 at Bloomfield High School. Online Intent to Enter and Athlete Event Entry is available this year for this Featured Meet. All forms are now available online. Irv Black Invitational
- April 17 and 19, 2008
The 4th Annual Irv Black High School Invitational, formally the Trinity High School Invite, is scheduled for Thursday and Saturday, April 17 and 19, 2008 at Trinity College in Hartford CT. Meet Director George Suitor offers one of the oldest, early season meets in Connecticut that provides junior varsity and varsity high school athletes an opportunity to compete in a large invitational atmosphere over the course of two days.  Please see the Irv Black High School Invitational website for all meet information and registration forms.

Dave Smith Rockville Relays
- April 26, 2008
The Dave Smith Rockville Relays, now in its eighth season, is hosted by Coach Ray Owens of Rockville High School. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Rockville High School. The meet offers two new events including the 100m Dash and the 4x200m Relay while offering the Distance Medley relay and a popular off-track 2-mile relay. In some events like the Long Jump and Javelin, athletes are provided with the opportunity to compete against others in their age group. Ledyard Relays

Meet Director Dave Tetlow has released the website information for the 2008 Ledyard Relays, scheduled for April 25-Friday and April 26-Saturday, at Ledyard High School. The meet is by invitation only for the following schools: Bacon Academy, Daniel Hand, Darien, East Lyme, E. O. Smith, Fitch, Griswold, Killingly, Ledyard, Middletown, Montville, New London, Norwich Free Academy, Plainfield, Putnam, RHAM, Rockville, Saint Bernards, Stonington, Tourtellote, Waterford, and Woodstock Academy. Meet Director Dave Tetlow needs coaches of the invited teams to register their online Intent to Enter before the April 16, 2008 deadline at the meet website: Ledyard Relays.  Athlete Event Entry forms will also be online at the meet website.

5th Manchester Midnight Invitational

Meet Director Dan Uriano has released the final information for the fifth annual Manchester Midnight Invitational, to be held on Friday, May 2, 2008. The Field events will begin at 4:30-5:00pm while the Running events will begin between 5:00-6:00pm. We have added the Javelin Throw for boys and girls and while we have removed all JV Relay events we have increased the number of relay teams that a team can enter to three per event. Manchester’s facility has clocked unusually fast times. This is a wonderful opportunity to come and compete in events rarely offered during the outdoor track season. Come run under the glow of the lights! The Intent to Enter form is online at the meet website with a deadline of Wednesday, April 23, 2008. 77th Greater Hartford Invitational

The state's oldest meet, the 77th Greater Hartford Outdoor Track and Field Meet, is hosted for a second season by Meet Director Rick Collins at Simsbury High School featuring one of the state's newest all-weather, 8 lane track facilities. Please note the new start time of 2:00pm in order to accommodate teams with athletes who may be involved in SAT testing on May 3, 2008. Invitations to attend the meet are open to any Connecticut high school team to participate at the new, state of the art facility for great times and great performances in a meet that features fully automatic timing. There is a new award this year for Small and Large School Team champions. The Intent to Enter are now available and Athlete Event Entry forms are available shortly at the meet website. Blue Devil Invite

Meet Director Marty Roberts invites the selected teams to participate in the Blue Devil Invitational at the O.H Platt High School in Meriden CT for the meet that is scheduled for a 2:00pm start on Saturday May 3, 2008. The meet website contains all meet information including the entry forms. The Mail-in Intent to Enter form and payment must be received by 6:00pm on Friday, April 25, 2008 while the  Online Athlete Event Entry deadline is also on Friday, 11:59pm, April 25, 2008, NO LATE Entries.

Middletown Invitational

Once again this season, Meet Director Craig Lundell offers the full range of standard outdoor events for varsity and junior varsity athletes in the 2008 Middletown Outdoor Track and Field Invitational that is scheduled for Friday-Saturday, May 2-3, 2008, at Middletown High School.
