Russ VerSteeg is offering
two pole vault clinics at ABC’s Gymnastics, 40 Industrial Park Road,
Niantic, CT. One on February 18 (Presidents’ Day) from 3:00 – 4:30 pm, and
another on March 3 from 7:30-9:00 pm.
These clinics are intended for coaches who want to learn more about how to
coach the pole vault and also for novice pole vaulters (especially
vaulters who have not previously worked with Russ).
The primary goals of the
clinics are:

Introduce coaches and novice
vaulters to the basic principals, mechanics, and techniques of the pole
vault;

Introduce coaches and novice
vaulters to the safety considerations essential for teaching and learning
the pole vault; and
-
Provide coaches and novice
vaulters with information and demonstrations to build a positive and
successful pole vault program.
Each clinic will cover
the same material. The two dates are intended make the clinics more
convenient for everyone. These clinics will be a great way for beginners
to learn the basics and for coaches to learn teaching fundamentals that
will help get your athletes off to a good start in a difficult sport.

I-95, Exit 74.

Turn Right at end of exit
ramp.

Drive past Burger King (on
left) and go past Stop and Shop (on right).

Turn right at light just
past Stop and Shop onto Industrial Park Road.

Drive about 10 seconds, turn
left at stop sign (Bob's Furniture Store is in front of you).
Drive
about 30 seconds and ABC's Gymnastics is the Blue Building with Yellow
Trim on your left.
