2 mile run - sections

After High Jumps Complete:

4 x 800 Meter Relay - sections

Hurdles – Semifinals

4 x 200 meter relay - sections Dash – Semifinals
1,000 meter run - sections Hurdle – Final
600 meter run – sections Dash - Final
1 mile run - sections – Girls
300 meter run – sections  
1 mile run – sections - Boys   
4 x 400 meter relay - sections  
NOTE: Fastest sections will be run last. Girls will run before boys. All athletes must check in when called. Do not miss the check in.

Awards: 
Plaques will be awarded for first place. In individual events,
medals will be awarded for places 2nd through 6th. Relays will also have a plaque for the winner, plus medals for 2nd – 6th.

Entry Fee: 
$10.00 per individual athlete. $25.00 per relay team.

No one will be allowed on the track surface before 5:00 PM!  Tickets will go on sale at 4:30 PM. for the spectators.

Please do this as soon as your State Meet has been completed. You still have until Monday morning Feb. 23, 2004 to add, scratch, or change any of your entries . Please include a phone number where you can be reached if there is trouble with the entry. Please include first names of all your qualifying athletes. 

The New England Council will do all the conversions using the formulas of
the " Big Red Book" of Track and Field News. Please indicate the time and distance run.

NOTICE TO STATE MEET DIRECTORS
   

Registration:
Registration will take place in the gymnasium (not the track area) beginning at 4:00 pm. All athletes and coaches should report to the gym area entering directly from the side entrance located on Malcolm X. Blvd (aka New Dudley Street)  

Entry fees:
$10.00 per individual athlete, and $25.00 per
relay team.
Checks should be made payable to New England Council. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Receipts may be requested for payments received. A New England Commemorative Lapel Pin and a Certificate of Participation will be awarded to every competitor. Extra pins will be on sale at the T-shirt concession. All expenses for athletes, coaches and associated personnel will be paid by individual schools, not the N.E. Council or the N.E. meet.

Event Limitations:  
Competitors are limited to a maximum of four (4) events. No athlete may be entered in more than four events, including relays. No event will be delayed because an athlete is competing in another event. Meet governed by National Federation Rules.

Each state will be allowed to submit six (6) competitors per event. If there are events in the N.E. meet that differ from a state’s event, the Principals’ Committee in that state will determine the method for selection of athletes, or decide not to contest that particular event. The N.E. Council does not overrule individual state restrictions.

Results: 
If you would like a complete set of results sent to you, sign up at the computer table. Results cost $3.00 per set.

Spikes:
 1/4" or 1/8" pyramid spikes are allowed for competition. Long or hex spikes will mean disqualification. Spikes will be on sale in the gym. No spikes to be worn in the gym!

School Reps:
All competitors must have an adult representative of their school present in order to compete in the meet.

Equipment:
STARTING BLOCKS, SHOT PUTS and BATONS will be supplied for the meet by the Mass. State Coaches Association. Please leave your equipment at home.

Late Arrival: 
If you arrive after a field event has begun you may still participate in that event unless the event in the finals. The high jump bar will not be lowered for late arrivals.

Lockers: 
No locker room facilities are available. Please come dressed to compete.

Admission: 
General admission will be $7.00. Programs will be $2.00. Please inform your supporters. Tickets will go on sale at 4:30 P.M..

Insurance: 
The insurance policy carried by the CNESSPA provides for the safety of athletes and spectators. The individual schools in accordance with the insurance programs operating in their respective states should provide insurance for competitors and coaches.

Hotels: 
Hotel accommodations are available at the Ramada Inn at 800 Morrissey Blvd (617-287-9100) and at the Howard Johnson’s Bayside 900 Morrissey Blvd (617-287- 9200). Please state that you are with New England Track Meet.

Directions: 
Directions to the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center
From South East Expressway take Mass Ave Exit-straight off ramp-through lights on to Melba Cass Boulevard –follow to end-go left onto Tremont St.- Center is 1/4 mile on the left.

South of Boston: Rt. 93 to South East Expressway- follow directions above. North of Boston: 93 South then same as above. West of Boston: Mass Pike East to So. East Expressway then same as above.
