New Haven Class Developmental Meets - Friday, Saturday - Dec. 7-8, 2007 Meet Director Gary Moore provides this early season developmental meet with limited events that is scheduled for Friday, Saturday - Dec. 7-8, 2007 at the New Haven Track and Field Center, where teams are organized by their Class; Friday for schools in Class S and M while Saturday is for schools in Class L and LL. The website for the New Haven Class Developmental Meets, has been updated to include the 2-step pre-registration procedure that includes an online Intent to Enter form that is due by Wednesday - 6:00pm - 12/5/2007. You must submit the online Intent to Enter form to enter the meet. You also need to print the Team Roster form, complete it and bring to the meet with you for onsite event entry. 6th Annual New Haven Invitational (Varsity) - Friday - Dec. 14, 2007 Once again, the Connecticut Indoor Track and Field invitational season starts with the 6th Annual New Haven Invitational for Varsity athletes on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 4:00pm at the New Haven Track and Field Center. Meet Director Gary Moore has made a few changes where athletes can compete in any three events including relays (entry as a relay alternate counts as one of the athlete's three (3) events). Schools are allowed to run 2 relays A- B with a maximum of two (2) entries per school per event and two (2) relays per school. Only the top 24 athletes in each event will qualify for participation in the Friday night events while those athletes who were entered but don't qualify are automatically entered into the same JV event in the JV Invitational Meet scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007. The Saturday JV Meet Order of Events has been changed to align with the events offered in the Friday night Varsity meet. 5th Annual New Haven Invitational (Junior Varsity) - Saturday - Dec. 15, 2007 The 5th Annual New Haven Invitational for Junior Varsity athletes is scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 9:00am at the New Haven Track and Field Center. Meet Director Gary Moore has made a major change where the Order of Events are aligned with the events offered in the Friday night Varsity meet so that athletes who do not qualify for the Friday night Varsity Meet event are automatically entered into the same JV-Level event. Also note that athletes can compete in any three events, including relays (entry as a relay alternate counts as one of the athlete's three (3) events). Schools are allowed to run an A and B relay team for each relay event. All meet information is available at the meet website: 5th Annual New Haven JV Invite and includes an online Intent to Enter form. |

Friday, December 21, 2007 Meet Director Steve Browning reminds invited schools that the registration for the Jack Long - ECC Coaches' Invitational scheduled for Friday December 21, 2007 at the New Haven Track and Field Center is online. Invited teams this year include Bacon Academy, East Lyme, Ellington, Fitch, Griswold, Hartford Public, Hillhouse, Killingly, Ledyard, Lyman Memorial, Montville, New London, Norwich Free Academy, Old Saybrook, Plainfield, RHAM, St. Bernard, Stonington, Tolland, Waterford, Wilby, Windham and Woodstock Academy. Coaches need to submit their Intent to Enter by December 12, their Waiver Form by Friday, December 14 and their Athlete Event Entries by Saturday, December 15. 65th Hartford Public
Invitational -
Saturday, January 5, 2008 Meet Directors Dave Smith and Lindy Remigino invite you to the 65th Hartford Public Invitational, one of the oldest meets in the state and a traditional first of the new year opportunity to compete against some of the state's top athletes and teams. The 65th Hartford Public Invitational for Varsity athletes is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 8:30am at the Freeman Athletic Center - Bacon Field House on the campus of Wesleyan University in Middletown CT. Building on the success of the meet from last season where events were revised to include the 600m and 1000m, the 2008 Event Standards have been adjusted and are based upon the 2007-08 Class LL standards in order to provide for a high quality meet. This is usually a competitive meet where there is event scoring and medals in six places to determine which teams win the silver Revere Bowls for first and second places. Individual awards are also given to Best in Track, Best in Field and Most Valuable Performer for boys and girls. A reminder that the Triple Jump event is scheduled for an early 8:30am start while other field events start at 9:30am and track events at 10:00am. ECC Indoor Championships -
Monday, Jan 21, 2008 This year's Eastern Connecticut Conference Championships are scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Roland Fieldhouse at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy New London, CT with start time for the schools in the Small/Medium Divisionat 8:30am and the schools in the Large Divisions at 12:30pm. The schools in the Small/Medium Division include Bacon Academy, Griswold, Killingly, Lyman Memorial, Montville, New London, Plainfield, St. Bernard, Stonington, Tourtellotte Memorial, Wheeler, and Windham. The schools in the Large Division include East Lyme, Fitch, Ledyard, Norwich Free Academy, Waterford and Woodstock Academy. Last year's champions were the Griswold Boys' Team and the Windham Girls' Team in the Small/Medium Division and the NFA Boys' Team and the East Lyme Girls' Team in the Large Division. The Eastern Connecticut Conference Championships meet website contains all meet information including the Intent to Enter and Athlete Event Entry forms. Coaches are expected to provide their entries on time. |
