MySportsResults.com started out in the winter of 2000 as a way to provide a service to the minor high school sports in Connecticut, such as cross-country, indoor and outdoor track and field. Typically, these sports were not covered in-depth by any other state media. The emphasis on high school track and field and cross country is also due to the commitment and dedication of two persons, myself and my father-in-law, Lindy Remigino, two-time US Olympic Gold Medal winner and former Hartford Public HS Track & Field coach.

For many years while he was actively coaching at Hartford Public High School, Lindy had maintained the official records books for the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference for the sports of cross country and track and field. After he retired, Lindy continued to maintain the records but asked me to start help publicizing them. As a former coach at the high school and college level, I'd always had a love for the sport and so I started my second "career" with Lindy. In the late 80's through the 90's, Lindy maintained the records while I published them in hardcopy for distribution at the various state meets. As of the 2004 cross-country season, I have assumed all the record-keeping responsibilities although Lindy still keeps directly involved as meet director for the Greater Hartford XC Meet and the Indoor and Outdoor Hartford Public Track Invitational Meets.

After the 1999 State Open Cross Country meet, the impact of steadily rising print costs gave birth to the idea to migrate the record books to the Internet as a web site. What had started as a way to distribute records grew steadily into the current state-wide coverage of cross-country and track and field, on a meet by meet basis for all three seasons. The website has moved to several service providers to keep my hosting costs at a low level as well as provide consistent access. The late night and early morning hours spent searching, reviewing and updating the site with meet results, photos and records is now a habit. I've had the honor and pleasure to attend most of the State Class and Open Championships, a few New England meets and several invitational meets in order to watch our state athletes compete.
